Perfect for Valentine’s night or any time you want to spice up your life. This is a simple, old fashioned recipe with a twist–GourGanics magics up one seriously delicious main course. Just make sure that you locate good, grass fed beef. You can also add all natural pork to the mix for an extra level of yum.
2 pounds grass fed high quality ground beef (or one pound beef, one pound pork)
1 jar GourGanics Spicy or mild salsa
1/2 cup dry organic bread crumbs
1 organic egg, beaten
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup shredded cheese of your choice
Use your hands to carefully mix the beef and/or pork, half of the jar of GourGanics salsa, bread crumbs and egg in a large bowl. Place the mixture into a baking or loaf pan and shape it to look like a loaf of bread (about 8 x 4-inches). Throw the whole thing in the oven and bake at 350°F. for 30 minutes, then dump the remainder of the salsa on top and let it simmer in the goodness for another 45 minutes or so. During the last 10minutes of cooking, add a handful of shredded cheese. YUM.
Let the meatloaf stand for 10 minutes before serving. Drizzle the saucy mixture on top for really good eating. Serve with mashed potatoes, or rice. Get ready for the spiciest, sassiest take on meatloaf you’ve ever enjoyed!
