FAIRFIELD, CT — Looking for a simple, delicious way to help the Osborn Hill School PTA jumpstart its garden – without lifting a shovel, pulling a weed or writing a check? If so, visit the Farmers Market on the Brick Walk in Fairfield this Saturday morning, Sept. 17, and buy a piping hot crepe. ALL proceeds from crepe sales go directly to the PTA’s garden efforts.
Each Saturday on the Brick Walk, Carol Dannhauser of Carol’s Crepes incorporates fresh fruits and vegetables from farmers at the market into delicious sweet or savory crepes cooked on the spot. The milk, eggs and cheeses in the made-from-scratch crepes are all from Connecticut, oftentimes right from Fairfield. Crepe sales benefit a local charity. One popular savory crepe, “The Carmine,” features homemade mozzarella made by Fairfielder Carmine Battimelli alongside organic cherry tomatoes from Oxen Hill Farm and GourGanics organic salsa, made by Osborn Hill mom Sarah Galluzzo.
