If you like the taste of packaged Mexican rices, this will blow your mind. It’s spicy and tastes so fresh, plus you can make it in a snap. We bet you love it so much, you never go back to the sodium and preservative-filled mix pouches again.
2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
2 Tbsp. butter
½ organic red onion, diced
1 clove organic garlic, chopped fine
1 jar GourGanics Spicy USDA Organic salsa
1 can of organic red beans (drained and rinsed)
2 c. organic brown rice (uncooked)
1 c. cold water
Salt and pepper to taste
Place olive oil and butter in pan until it sizzles. Sauté onion and garlic until caramelized. Add rice. Sauté rice for three minutes. Stir in salsa and most of the water. Bring to a boil for five minutes. Add remaining water Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20- 25 minutes or until liquid has evaporated.
It’s the perfect side dish to a spicy meal, or it can spice up a meal that has a less lively flavor combo. Enjoy!
